DESCRIPTION:Join IPL and MCC professor Mark Sample to explore different 
 narratives surrounding the Civil War!\n\nThis talk will look at both 
 well-known and overlooked perspectives from Civil War period. We'll explore 
 the experiences of Black soldiers\, look at the draft riots surrounding the 
 war\, and consider the impactful 1964 election. These stories will provide 
 further context for the Emancipation Proclamation\, the Gettysburg 
 address\, and Lincoln's assassination. \n\nRegistration requested. Please
