History of the Empty Closet In-Person
Join the Irondequoit Public Library and librarian Gerry Szymanski to learn about a unique facet of Rochester history and the LGBTQ+ rights movement!
Starting out as a "zine" for members of the Gay Liberation Front, the Empty Closet has been Rochester's LGBTQ+ news source for over 50 years. This lively talk will trace the people, the places, and the paper, as our community has moved from activism, to the AIDS crisis, to educating and advocating for change.
