The Kennedy-Baldwin Meeting: Part 1 In-Person
In a memorable meeting in May 1963, Attorney General Bobby Kennedy met with James Baldwin and a group of Black activists and artists in the Kennedy family apartment in NYC. Kennedy, an ardent civil rights supporter, expected a discussion on how to move forward. Instead, a verbal attack ensued, leaving Kennedy shocked. Lecturer Mel Braverman will share about this contentious meeting. This is a two-part presentation - part two will take place on Wednesday, September 30, at 6pm. Registration recommended.
