Plaster Casting

Roll up your sleeves and get your hands into some wet plaster! Join us for a fun, hands-on Plaster Casting Workshop hosted by teaching artist Laura Jackett, where you’ll create your own small plaster sculpture to take home.

Bring a small object—such as a seashell, plastic toy, or other interesting item—to press into wet sand and create a mold. We’ll mix and pour plaster into the impression, then let it set and harden into the shape of your object.

While we wait for the plaster to set, we’ll work on cleaning and finishing small plaster objects made using candy molds. Once your sculpture has hardened, you’ll pop it out of the sand, clean it up, and take it home!

*Registration is required. Space is limited. Please bring a small object you’d like to use for your casting. Your finished sculpture will need to air dry for approximately 24 hours before it can be painted.
