An introduction to the life and accomplishments of Frederick Law Olmsted, pioneer of the modern urban park. We’ll first explore the history of urban parks, then move to the early life of Olmsted, leading to the creation of Central Park. Also covered are the major projects of Olmsted and the Olmsted firm and the Rochester (now Monroe County) Park System, partially designed by Olmsted. A link to the virtual event will be emailed to registrants.
Each month, we will be highlighting Zoom classes through Cornell Cooperative Extension. We are part of a cost-sharing exchange that allows patrons from all the MCLS libraries to attend these webinars.
