Crewel Embroidery Class In-Person

Join fiber artist, Annette Hansen, to learn crewel embroidery, an ancient surface embroidery technique popularized during the 17th-century Jacobean era, well known for freestyle stitching, rich botanical motifs, and a thick, dimensional appearance. Everything from threading your needle, to learning stitches, to how to end and secure your thread ends will be covered. Needles, thread and material will be provided, but feel free to bring your own piece of woven material, a medium-weight cotton or denim. (Patches at least 6” x 6” would work well.) Please register in advance; this class is for adults and ages 14+ on Wednesday, October 21st from 2:00-4:00 PM in the Library.
