Rubber Band Racers In-Person

No batteries, no plugs, just a twisted rubber band and physics for this STEM event! Kids build their own propeller-driven race car from the axle up, then find out how much rubberband winding it takes to cross the room, and what happens when they go one wind too far. We'll test wheel size, chassis weight, and propeller pitch, run head-to-head races down a taped track, and keep a leaderboard on the wall. Participants will learn about Stored Energy & Speed. This event is for ages 6-12, and every child takes their car home. All materials are provided. Please register each child in advance for this activity on Monday, November 18th at 6:00 PM in the Udicious Pavilion. Parents must remain with children at this event.
