GPL Out On the Town: Architectural Tour at Mt. Hope Cemetery
This is the first of a series our library will be offering called GPL Out On the Town! Meet at the North Gate House, Mount Hope Cemetery (opposite Robinson Dr.), lead by Tour Guide, Dennis Carr.
This architectural tour is better known as, History in Plain Sight: Architects, Architecture and Mount Hope Cemetery.
Architecture is the art we see every day, and Mount Hope Cemetery is the final resting place of the architects, builders and important clients that determined the built environment of our area. Additionally, Mount Hope is a veritable museum of architecture, with its own collection of significant buildings and monuments. This tour of Mount Hope Cemetery is a walk through the past 200 years of our region's architectural history. You will leave with a new appreciation for the buildings you see throughout your own community! Registration is required.

There is no aspect of American history that can't be interpreted through Mount Hope Cemetery, and that is especially so with the architects and architectural history of Rochester and the surrounding region. Stay tuned for more off-site programs to support life-long learning.
