GPL Out On the Town: Tour the Rochester Public Market In-Person

This is the second offering of our series GPL Out On The Town! Meet at the Market Office (2 story brick office @ 280 Union St N, Rochester, NY 14609) at 8:45 AM. In partnership with Gates Town Recreation, transportation is also available by request. Contact Ashley Armstrong at 585-247-6446 or email ashley.armstrong@libraryweb.org. Please register. The tour, provided by the Friends of the RochesterPublic Market, will be approximately 45 – 60 minutes long.

The Rochester Public Market is a valuable community resource that has provided affordable fresh foods for the community since 1905. The Market Tour helps both youth and adults learn about the:
•       History of Rochester, and the role of the Rochester Public Market
•       How the Market has changed – yet kept true to its mission over the years
•       The role of local farmers, vendors, and small businesses in a successful Market
•       The importance of fresh local foods that support healthy eating

Tours are provided rain or shine, so please dress for the weather. If you are allergic to bee stings, please bring medication with you as a precaution as it is “bee season.”
