Getting to Know You: Writing Characters In-Person
This class is for fiction writers who want to develop their characters. We'll do writing exercises that will deepen your understanding of your characters' histories, their values, their motivations and their secret sides. This writing will not necessarily end up in your final manuscript, but you'll flesh out what is in your characters that fuels the action. You'll end up with more three-dimensional protagonists and antagonists and feel more of a personal connection to them. Open to writers of all levels. Space is limited and registration is required.
Anais Salibian has a Master's degree in English literature and a Certification in Secondary Education, and has taught high school English and Drama for many years. Her published works are all creative non-fiction. She's currently teaching classes on writing to heal, memoir, essay, and crafting sentences.
This program is hosted by the Arts & Literature Division. Please contact Carol Moldt at 428-8375 or carol.moldt@libraryweb.org for more information on this or other Rochester Writes classes.
