Girls Who Code Information Session In-Person

Girls Who Code is a nonprofit organization which aims to support and increase the number of women in computer science. The organization is working to close the gender gap in technology and change the image of what a programmer looks like and does.

Our afterschool club is open to girls in grades 6 – 12. We will meet every Thursday (with exceptions for holidays) from 4 to 5 PM at the Gates Public Library. The club will start on September 20th and end on December 20th.

The girls will learn the concepts of loops, variables, conditionals, and functions that form the basis for all programming languages. They will also work in teams to design a computer science impact project that solves real world problems the girls care about. Tonight's meeting has no registration.
