Frankenstein Lives! The Continuing Relevance of Mary Shelley’s Shocking Novel

Published 200 years ago, Mary Shelley’s novel Frankenstein is as “immortal” as any novel can be. Victor Frankenstein and his rejected creation are not that far removed from today’s discussions on fetal tissue research, life-extension, and human cloning. This talk will discuss the novel, how it differs significantly from its many film adaptations, as well as the various controversies it has inspired since its original publication in 1818. Presented by Tim Madigan, Professor and Chair of Philosophy at St. John Fisher College. No registration required.
