Writing to Heal: What's the Story? In-Person

Are you dealing with health problems, grief, job loss, past trauma, life transitions or stress? You are welcome to this class whether you already write or not. You’ll learn writing exercises and skills you can use for the rest of your life to know yourself better and help restore physical and emotional health.

Learn about decades of amazing research on how telling your story a certain way produces positive changes in your body (including boosting your immune system and helping wound healing), restores emotional well-being, and clears the mind. Find what story you have to tell and how to tell it.

Anais Salibian, M.A., owner of Awareness Heals, has a private practice in therapeutic bodywork and teaches classes and workshops in creative non-fiction. Especially in Memoir classes, she found that her students were experiencing similar benefits as her clients. Then she discovered decades of research on the power of writing to heal, research that revealed that the healing components were the very techniques taught in her writing classes! Anais is very excited to integrate her two professional modalities.

Anais has taught at local colleges, community organizations, trauma conferences and Writers & Books for over 30 years. She has an exceptional ability to create a safe place, ask the right questions and work with diverse groups. In 2004, she was awarded the Teacher of Adults Award for the Creation and Appreciation of Literature by Writers & Books.
