Frederick Douglass Under Pressure In-Person
Join us as Dr. David Anderson, founding member of Blackstorytelling League, introduces us to Frederick Douglass in 1860, returning to Rochester from England where he fled after abolitionist John Brown seized the federal arsenal at Harpers Ferry, Virginia. Dr. Anderson presents Douglass as candid, acknowledging the impact of an impending war on the nation, and referring to his personal loss. Experience a memorable portrayal of one of Rochester's most influential citizens.
