From Pawn to Bishop: My Journey with Rev. JW Loguen In-Person

On Wednesday, March 20th from 5:30pm to 6:30pm, join local author Robert Djed Snead for his presentation entitled "From Pawn to Bishop: My Journey with Rev. JW Loguen". Jermain Wesley Loguen was born a slave but became a Bishop in the A.M.E. Zion Church, helped over 1,500 people escape slavery, and was known as the “King of the Underground Railroad” during his lifetime. This lecture and slide presentation recounts Mr. Snead's discovery of Rev. Loguen's life and works and the challenges in researching and sharing factual and entertaining first-person re-enactments of Bishop Loguen over the last 15 years.
