Unfolding Pleasure: The Sentence Experience In-Person
"Why should a sequence of words be anything but a pleasure?", Gertrude Stein asks. Good grammar alone does not guarantee great sentences, but concious choices in diction, syntax and structure do. A sentence is an unfolding experience for the reader, each word producing an effect. This class will teach you how to think about constructing sentences so that they have both an intellectual and emotional impact. This class is a four-part series, meeting on June 3, 10, 17 & 24.
