Spy in the House of Men: A One Woman Show with Balls - performance and workshop

Spy in the House of Men: A One Woman Show with Balls - performance and workshop In-Person

Penny will perform her show, Spy in the House of Men: A One Woman Show with Balls. In it she describes her true self behind the persona of a “sarcastic fat guy,” and the long, painful, journey to self-acceptance in a way that is both deeply personal and profoundly universal. Following the performance, there will be a Q&A session with the performer where she will answer questions about her life and transgender issues in general. Penny will then lead a 3 hour storytelling workshop where participants will learn techniques for writing and sharing personal stories in a safe space.

There are two components to this program. The performance, with talk back, is from 11:00AM to 12:30PM, and registration is not required. The workshop will run from 1:30 to 4:30PM. Registration for the workshop is required, please visit https://libraryweb.org/events/events-classes/ for details.

Penny Sterling is a storyteller, writer, performer, and Emmy-nominated television producer/writer, who “came out” in October of 2015. Her life is the topic of Spy in the House of Men: A One Woman Show with Balls, her award winning storytelling piece.
