The “Clobber” Passages

The “Clobber” Passages In-Person

Depending on the translation used, 6 or 7 Biblical passages are commonly
cited as explicitly condemning homosexual acts. All of these passages are
open for interpretation, leading to controversy over the original intent of
the text. Brae Adams will lead an exploration of these passages, discussing
the different manners of interpretation and placing them within the context
in which they were originally written.

S. Brae Adams was born in Memphis, Tennessee. She received her
undergraduate degree at Mississippi State University and her Master
of Divinity from Colgate Rochester Crozer Divinity School. Since 2014,
Brae has served as the pastor of Open Arms Metropolitan Community
Church, located at 68 Ashland St. in the South Wedge of Rochester.
