Craft it Forward: Scarves for Crafting Democracy

Craft it Forward: Scarves for Crafting Democracy In-Person

Make flannel scarves for Crafting Democracy. The scarves will be displayed at the Central Library and available for anyone in the community to take.  Local artist Georgia Carney from SewGreen Rochester will be at the Central Library from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM on Wednesday July 17 to show you how to make 2 styles of scarves from soft, warm cotton flannel- one flat "regular" scarf and one in a circle designed to make two warm loops around the neck (and guaranteed windproof!)

This class is perfect for sewing machine beginners and more experienced stitchers will be able to make lots of these! All materials will be provided

Georgia Carney learned to sew practically from birth and spent more than 30 years in professional theatre costume shops as a Draper/ Tailor (28 years at GeVa Theatre).  She founded SewGreen@Rochester, in 2015 in cooperation with SewGreen in Ithaca, NY. SewGreen@Rochester accepts donations of everything related to sewing, knitting, crochet and other needle work and sells these goods for very affordable prices. We also teach a wide variety of classes and camps and offer free sewing, knitting and crochet clubs. Our shop is located in Rochester at 438 West Main St.
