A reading and discussion program funded by a grant from Humanities New York that focuses on James Baldwin's early novels, stories, and essays. Baldwin's essay "Many Thousands Gone" included in Notes of a Native Son, first published 60 years ago, is particularly relevant in today's society. Dr. Kathleen M. Donovan, Asst. Professor of Political Science at St. John Fisher College, will facilitate the four-part series. Copies of the two texts, The Early Novels and Stories of James Baldwin and The Collected Essays of James Baldwin, will be available.
