Artist Demonstration: David Burke, painting

Artist Demonstration: David Burke, painting In-Person

Stop by and meet the artist and watch him paint in this very informal program. There will be an exhibit of David Burke's work in the Arts and Literature Division until the end of January.

David Burke's artwork is primarily inspired by nature, and by personal associations and ideas stimulated by his perceptions of the world around him. " I love how the effects of light and shadow, color and composition evoke subtle emotions and memories, both conscious and unconscious. I'm also enjoying painting people in the last two or three years. Human images are endlessly fascinating!
I like to paint things that make me feel a connection to that greater Mystery beneath the manifest world, and to explore how visual stimuli can take the mind beyond our everyday state of consciousness. My goal is to share that sense of wonder and connection to a greater wholeness through visual media."
David received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the State University of New York College at Brockport, where he studied painting and ceramic sculpture.
