Love and Poetry: Inspirations for Writing In-Person

Whether you want new inspiration for a valentine card, to explore different ways great poets have written about love (without falling into the traps of sentimentality) or simply are curious about how poetry has dealt with love for centuries, this workshop taught by Kitty Jospe will give you a sampling of possibilities to take home to further enjoy. Writing prompts will be provided, but because this is a one session workshop, the focus will be on providing you tools to use at home and discussing how to use them with input from the people in the workshop.

Kitty Jospe is a teacher, active poet, and Memorial Art Gallery docent. She currently facilitates the Poetry Oasis discussion group at the Central Library. Kitty has poems in various magazines and anthologies, and three published books. Her blog http://kdjospe.blogspot.com features discussions of poems since 2010.

Rochester Writes is hosted by the Arts & Literature Division. For additional information, please call 428-8380 or contact Carol.Moldt@libraryweb.org.
