4H: Amazing Apple Creations Online

Learn about New York State’s most famous crop! Try your hand at some Apple Trivia, dive into the different types of apples and their uses, and of course, make some creations at home using Apples! Participants will be able to create an apple creation as well as a tasty treat! Yum! Geared for grades K-8 (K-2 with adult support). Registration is required and begins October 1. 

Supplies needed:

Paper Tube Apple Stamps– The basic items needed to follow along at home are a few paper tubes (toilet paper or paper towel tubes), a paper/plastic plate, paint (apple colors - red, yellow, green, brown), and paper. Newspaper, paper towels, and an art smock are handy for easy-cleanup. You can also be creative and use fabric paint to decorate t-shirts, tote bags, or aprons, make a card for someone special, or stamp on long sheets of paper to make gift wrap, etc).

 

Healthy Apple Parfait – 1 vanilla Greek yogurt or yogurt of choice, 1 apple, 1 tablespoon cinnamon, 2 tablespoons honey, 1/2 cup granola or cereal of choice, spoon, cup/bowl.  Participants may also participate with whatever materials they have on hand.   Adult supervision is recommended for cutting apples. (Alternatively, families may choose to chop apples ahead of time.)
