Take a journey into the interplanetary music of Sun Ra! Ahead of his time and out of this world, Sun Ra touched the realms of Afrofuturism, free jazz, space music, and beyond. Together we'll explore the fascinating life of this cosmic being, including his belief that he originated from the planet Saturn, as well as his eclectic musical career that spanned decades.

Maya Rook (www.historyhappyhours.com) is a historian and educator living in Rochester, NY. She holds an MA in American History from the University at Albany and seeks to better understand the human mind and heart through the practice of history. As a college instructor and public speaker, Maya strives to blend critical insight with humor and empathy in her investigations of the past.
