Life on Venus of All Places? (virtual) Online
Life on Venus of All Places? (virtual) -
Tuesday, December 8 from 3:00-4:00 PM
For Adults
*Registration opens Tuesday, November 24*
A link to the virtual meeting will be emailed the morning of December 8. The planet Venus sprang into the news this fall with the announcement of the gas phosphine in its atmosphere. On Earth, phosphine is produced by some bacteria. But how could anything live on a planet with a surface temperature approaching 900 degrees and sulfuric acid clouds? In this virtual program, RMSC Strasenburgh Planetarium Director Steve Fentress reviews our growing understanding of Venus, the Carl Sagan connection, what might be next for Venus research, and how to view Venus in the sky.
