Meditative Chants

Meditative Chants Online

Meditative Chants: Dr. Sandra Sluberski will offer a free 90-minute session of Kirtan singing and chanting on Saturday, May 15th from 10:30-noon via Zoom. She will be using a harmonium, which is a traditional instrument used in Indian music. Kirtan is call-and-response singing of Sanskrit mantras, or chants, and you’ll enjoy the energy and fun of singing melody or harmony, because you’ll learn both — and you don’t need to read music! Have a chair, cushion, or a folded blanket to sit on, and a bottle of water to sip while singing. This style of group singing is thousands of years old, but it never gets old! (This program is free, but if you enjoy it, Dr. Sluberski asks that you make a donation to the library.) Register in advance on our calendar of events, and we will send you the Zoom link the morning of the event.
