Zoom Lecture: The Plateau: A French Village, Holocaust Rescue, and Lessons for Turbulent Times In-Person
Maggie Paxson, a Rochester native, will speak about her acclaimed book The Plateau, which received the American Library in Paris Book Award and was described as "radiant" by The Oprah Magazine. During WW2, villagers in a remote pocket of Nazi-held France risked everything to save Jews and other outsiders. Today, their descendants have kept up the tradition of welcoming strangers and assisting refugees who arrive from around the world. Participants will have a chance to win the copy of the book. Sponsored by Friends of BML.
