Learn the Coptic Bookbinding method In-Person
Said to have originated in Ethiopia, this popular binding has a flexible spine, unsupported by paper or boards. This versatile, multi-signature book can be laid completely flat when opened. book artist, Rebecca Grant will teach this class. Coptic-bound is sewn with a single, straight needle and will employ chip-board covers for easy hole punching. Students will learn how to use a “weaver’s knot” to add a new piece of thread to the existing one. This class will be taught by book artist Rebecca Grant and is for adults ages 18 and older and all supplies will be provided.
This is not a Zoom class, this is an in-person class in the Central Library's Art Division and teacher and students are required to wear masks and practice social distancing.
