The Power of Uplifting Words and Images

The Power of Uplifting Words and Images Online

In this hour, Kitty Jospé, moderator of Poetry Oasis at the Central Library, O Pen, at the Pittsford Library, and docent at the Memorial Art Gallery, will share poems and images that encourage better understanding, of ourselves, each other, and our one planet.

As William James advises, “Act as if what you do makes a difference. It does!” The poems selected will confirm the importance of such an attitude and provide inspiration to apply it.

As we enter the darker months of Winter here in Rochester, such poems can provide a fireside around which to gather... providing healing possibilities, as they lead us away from negative feelings to a sense of empathy, hope, kindness.
