The Art of Native Seed Sowing, Parts 1 & 2 -

Wednesdays, January 19 & 26 from 7:00-8:30 PM

Registration is limited - you must attend both sessions. Learn from Monroe County Master Gardener Megan Meyer, also of Color Penfield Green about her techniques for winter seed sowing. Learn when and how to harvest seed, the best time to plant, and the conditions for growing them once they germinate. Session 1 is a PowerPoint lecture with hands-on activity of harvesting seed from seed pods and capsules. Information provided on where to purchase native plant seed and native plants. For second session, bring your modified recycled containers, choose seed for those perennials you’d like to grow, and any questions you may have as you add native plants to your landscape. Soil, plant markers, and native perennial seed provided for planting. Participants will bring their own containers for planting.
