Edgar Allan Poe with the Genesee Country Moveable Museum In-Person

In celebration of the Town of Chili Bicentennial, the Chili Public Library is sponsoring six Genesee Country Museum Moveable Museum programs to be held throughout the year at the Chili Community Center. The Museum educators bring touchable, usable objects to inform those present about the customs and activities of the 19th century. Each programs last 45-60 minutes.

For Grades 7-12 and adult groups

American author Edgar Allan Poe was a master at creating tales of mystery and the macabre. His well-known short story “The Tell-Tale Heart” will be dramatically performed as part of this program. Following the one-man performance, historic information about Poe will be shared along with a discussion of the common themes that appeared in his work. Excerpts form a selection of Poe’s other writings will also be read and examined as part of the program.
