Victorian Yuletide with the Genesee Country Moveable Museum In-Person
In celebration of the Town of Chili Bicentennial, the Chili Public Library is sponsoring six Genesee Country Museum Moveable Museum programs to be held throughout the year at the Chili Community Center. The Museum educators bring touchable, usable objects to inform those present about the customs and activities of the 19th century. Each programs last 45-60 minutes.
For Grades 4-12 and adult groups
Festive seasonal decorating flourished in Victorian America, and preparations began months in advance. Using historical documentation reflecting the cultural origins of various Victorian holiday traditions, a Museum educator facilitates the recreation of the spirit and charm of 19th-century Yuletide celebrations.
Registration is required and begins November 26.
