Song Writing/Poetry/Rap Workshop
This workshop is focused on creating new songs with lyrics, chords and melodies. Participants will create their own song, writing lyrics and transforming them into singing using a piano, hand drums, or guitar. (No experience playing an instrument is required). A sampling of different types of song lyrics will inspire our imaginations and suggest examples for writing our own song lyrics. Different intuitive approaches to engaging in song making will be discussed, including the reciprocal relations between making musical sounds and writing lyrics. The overall goal of this workshop is to make a new song to sing, and further our original song making abilities. Will also include Rap and Poetry writing.
