Rush Readers' Book Club- In Person In-Person
Rush Readers’ Book Club: For August we will discuss The Vanishing Half by Brit Bennett. This novel follows twin sisters, inseparable as children, who ultimately choose to live in two very different worlds, one black and one white. This brilliant exploration of the American history of “passing” weaves together multiple generations of family, from the Deep South to California, from the 1950s to the 1990s and considers the lasting influence of the past as it shapes a person’s decisions, desires, and expectations. Join us in person on September 1, at 7:00 PM for coffee and dessert. Please register in advance. Copies of the book will be available in July; please register in advance for a seat.
