Outdoor Yoga for Adults on the Library Lawn

This 4-week outdoor yoga series for adults will take place every Friday evening in August (8/5, 8/12, 8/19, 8/26) from 6:00 – 6:45 PM. If the weather is inclement, we'll meet in the library meeting rooms.

The movements in this series will be explored through the lens of yoga asana (standing poses, reclining poses, balance poses, twists), some simple breathing techniques, and an attitude of playfulness. These classes are suitable for any adult who is able to get up and down from the ground. Registration is required for each session.

In this series, we’ll aim to embrace some of the remarkable things you can do—move, breathe, and pay attention—all in a playful way. We’ll play with movement variation in traditional yoga shapes and movement progressions that will offer you a variety of options, depending on how you feel on the day. We'll end each class with savasana (final resting pose); our bodies resting on the ground, under a canopy of sky!

Yoga blocks and straps will be provided. Please bring a yoga mat, towel, or blanket for cushioning.

Kasia Pelepko is a Rochester-based yoga teacher who has trained in a variety of yoga systems & movement modalities. The common thread in her classes is to highlight how resilient, capable, & adaptable all of us are. More information can be found on her website
