Bob Beabout, a Master Gardener with Cornell Cooperative Extension, will provide an overview of the life and works of Frederick Law Olmsted, the pioneer landscape architect of the United States and the pioneer of the modern urban park. The presentation will include: a history of urban parks, the early years of Frederick Law Olmsted, New York City and Central Park, Olmsted after Central Park, and the Rochester Olmsted Parks (the Monroe County Park System), and the Olmsted Firm.
