Garlic Workshop In-Person
On Monday, October 24, Ally Miller, Nutrition Educator and Jarmila Haseler, Agricultural Educator with Cornell Cooperative Extension will present a garlic workshop from 6:00-7:00 PM in the William Udicious Pavilion behind the Rush Town Hall. Garlic is one of the easiest plants to grow in your vegetable plot, and planting in October allows the garlic to establish its roots prior to winter dormancy. Producing high-quality garlic with large, tasty, full-flavored cloves while avoiding pests and diseases requires skill and knowledge. During the workshop you will learn about planting, growing, harvesting, curing, and storing garlic, as well as the nutrition and health benefits associated with it. Please register for this program co-hosted with the Mendon Public Library. UPDATE: Cornell Cooperative Extension's Agriculture Program is hosting a garlic sale. Here is the link: https://monroe.cce.cornell.edu/events/2022/10/12/-organic-certified-garlic-for-sale.This is locally grown, organic garlic, for sale by Fraser's Farm in Churchville, NY. If you would like to pre-order garlic, your order will be delivered at the workshop on October 24th.
