NASA’s Great Observatories In-Person
For the past 30 years NASA has been discovering the distant mysteries of the universe using four great orbiting observatories. Headlined by the Hubble Space Telescope, they include the Chandra X-ray Telescope (built right here in Rochester), the Compton Gamma-ray Telescope, and the Spitzer Space Telescope for infra-red imaging (replaced by the James Webb Space Telescope.) Join NASA Ambassador Jim Porter on Thursday, January 19 from 7:00-8:00 PM in the Library, to discover what scientists are learning from the NASA Great Observatories… the largest, most powerful space telescopes ever developed. Seating is limited, please register in advance.
