Mourning in the Morning: First! Best! Most! - Rochester’s superlative heritage at Mount Hope Cemetery

Mourning in the Morning: First! Best! Most! - Rochester’s superlative heritage at Mount Hope Cemetery Online

REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED (see below). Registrants will receive the Zoom link in an email one hour before the talk begins.

In a digital era with a global economy and worldview, it is easy to forget that the Rochester region has always been the home of innovators, inventors and original thinkers with an outsized impact on the rest of the nation and the world. There is no better place than Mount Hope Cemetery to remind us of what originated here as the First, the Best or the Most in New York, the United States or the world!

Dennis Carr is a founding member, past president, and current Vice-President of the Friends of Mount Hope Cemetery. He is the Senior Tour Guide at Mount Hope, with 2022 marking his 44th year leading tours of Mount Hope Cemetery. Carr is also on staff at the Edward G. Miner Library at the University of Rochester Medical Center, assisting students, researchers, clinical staff, and faculty. He is a life-long scholar of the American cemetery.
