Celebrate Black History Month: Poets Scott Williams and Doug Curry In-Person
Join us in Celebrating Black History Month with area poets Scott Williams and Doug Curry. They will perform their poetry with a QandA to follow.
Scott Williams' poetry and short fiction can be found in Coffeehouse, Scryptic Magazine, Juniper Poetry, Punch Drunk Press, Oddball Magazine, Peach Mag, Mason Street Review, Owl Light Magazine, and Le Mot Juste. He is Professor Emeritus of Mathematics at The University at Buffalo and received the 2023 Lifetime Achievement Award from The National Association of Mathematicians.
Doug Curry is a published poet, Harlem native, longtime Rochester dweller and lifelong blues lover, writer, record collector, historian, and actor. He is the host of highly regarded Blues radio shows in Rochester and Chicago. His work connects the dots between poetry, music, art and the larger forces of Black culture and history.
