We are pleased to host bestselling author of Remarkably Bright Creatures, Shelby Van Pelt, this fall at Penfield Public Library! Remarkably Bright Creatures is the charming story of Tova, a grieving widow, and her unlikely connection with a giant Pacific octopus. The New York Times describes the 2022 novel as “one of those increasingly rare success stories: a quiet, quirky literary debut that has been buoyed by bookseller love and word-of-mouth recommendations.”
A favorite with book clubs, Remarkably Bright Creatures has sold over two million copies worldwide. It is soon to be the subject of a Netflix film starring Sally Field.
Join us for a book signing and light refreshments after the talk. You are welcome to bring your own copy of Van Pelt's book or purchase a copy from our local indie partner for the evening, Another Chapter Bookstore.
Thanks to the fantastic crew at Penfield TV, the talk will be available for live streaming beginning at 7 PM on September 9 and a recording will be available to view for two weeks afterward.
If you register but are then unable to attend, please notify us by calling 340-8720 or updating your registration status online so that we can offer open spaces to people on the waitlist. Thank you!
This author event is brought to you by Penfield Public Library, East Rochester Public Library, and Webster Public Library.
