Exploring the Friendship of Malcolm X and Muhammad Ali Online
Malcolm X and Muhammad Ali came together through the Nation of Islam (NOI), an Islamic and Black Nationalist Movement. Malcolm X, already a part of the movement was elated that Ali expressed interest and became a mentor to Ali. In due time, the friendship began to deteriorate because of differing political viewpoints, and Ali’s allegiance to NOI leader Elijah Muhammad.
Join us as Mark Sample, professor at Monroe Community College, discusses the friendship between these two Civil Rights Movement leaders.
